BBC Creative Archive pilot has ended

The BBC’s trial phase of the Creative Archive licence has now drawn to a close. Over the last year the BBC has released nearly 500 clips, full programmes, audio tracks and images for the public to use and enjoy under the terms of the Creative Archive Licence.

What happens next?

As with all its new digital proposals, now the pilot is over the BBC’s Creative Archive will be submitted to the Governors for a public value test. While the test lasts, we have to temporarily withdraw the service.

Details about the Public Value Test and what it entails can be found on the BBC’s website.

Meanwhile, we will keep you informed of progress. Keep checking this site for news, and for the lessons we have learnt during the trial. Finally, don’t forget to enjoy the Creative Archive content which will continue to be released by our partners.
