Debate with Free Culture UK continues

The discussion between the Creative Archive Licence Group and Free Culture UK, an organisation dedicated to the promotion of a "open, participatory culture", has continued.

The debate centres around the terms of the licence and whether it maximises the creative potential of the material offered. Read the previous article.

Paul Gerhardt, the BBC's project director of the Creative Archive Licence, has responded in detail to the points raised by Free Culture UK in their open letter to the licence group. Gerhardt's letter focuses on the future of the licence and seeks to explain the reasoning behind the licence as it currently stands. Read Gerhardt's letter in full.
