VJs Coldcut create BBC archive mix

Coldcut have produced a Video Jockey (VJ) mix of their new single, 'Everything is Under Control', for Radio 1 and 1Xtra, using BBC Creative Archive Licensed content.

The renowned VJ artists, who are on the judging panel for the Radio1/1Xtra Superstar VJ competition inviting the public to mix to Creative Archive content, have now produced their own inspiring mix using the clips on offer.

VJing, or the art of mixing and scratching visuals to music, is fast becoming an art form in itself and Coldcut's mix – which will not be commercially available – shows what can be done with the Creative Archive and how VJs can enhance their sets.

Around 250,000 users have visited the Superstar VJ site – at bbc.co.uk/radio1 - since its launch last month. Many of them have taken part in the competition to build a three minute VJ mix from the clips available and a OneMusic backing track. The competition runs until 31st October and the winner will receive mixing equipment and the chance to VJ live to a mix of their choice on Radio 1 or 1Xtra.
