The bfi has made James Williamson's The Little Match Seller available through the Creative Archive Licence and is inviting primary schools across London to create their own scores for this 1902 film.
In a new collaboration with the forthcoming London Children's Film Festival (9-20 November 2005), and as part of the festival's educational outreach programme, primary schools across London will be creating their own scores for Williamson's film and are now able to download the film directly to school pcs.
Full details of the project can be found here.
The Little Match Girl is the earliest film adaptation of a story by Hans Christian Andersen and will form part of the festival's 200th anniversary celebration of Andersen. There are more details about the festival on the London Children's Film Festival website.
