Three months into the pilot to make its programming available for the UK public to use under the terms of the Creative Archive Licence, the BBC announces that it is currently digitising nearly 100 extracts from its archives. The material will be released as part of an exciting campaign with a radio station, details of which will be announced within the next month so watch this space.
Teachers’ TV, the new digital TV channel for teaching professionals, has joined the group working to create the Creative Archive Licence.
“Vast amounts of the knowledge and creative output of the last century is fated to turn to dust. Through technology we can blow off the dust and liberate these archives. Content can become the starting point for new stories instead of the final resting place for old ones.”
